About this event

Between them, these artists have represented their countries at the highest level, won numerous awards, performed at the most prestigious festivals around the world and recorded with the leading lights of their respective scenes.

So, expect fireworks in Dublin this September as Match&Fuse rolls into town...

Match&Fuse – it’s all in the name: we match bands from different countries and then they ‘fuse’ together to create new works. Run by a genuine network of supportive producers, we commission collaborations and are building a reputation for events in imaginative contexts. Bands get the chance to play outside their homeland and audiences the opportunity to see the most exciting instrumental and vocal music from the European underground.

Diatribe Records presents: Match&Fuse Dublin 2017 - Diatribe is Ireland's leading record label for new sounds. Founded in 2007, they have released over 20 critically-acclaimed albums from the most innovative and boundary-pushing artists working in Ireland.

TWELVE musicians, SIX countries, FOUR days, THREE brand new bands – all featuring the best of a new wave of cutting-edge European musicians.

In the spirit of reunifying Europe at a time of unrest and disparity, this September, Match&Fuse are placing an even greater emphasis on the 'fused' side of things. After hugely successfuls past festivals in London, Oslo, Rome, Warsaw and Toulouse, this year nine musicians will be invited from France, UK, Switzerland, Norway and Belgium to collaborate with some of Ireland's most exciting artists. After three days of collaborative workshops, the newly formed ensembles will perform at dlr LexIcon on Saturday 16th September at 2pm.

These groups will then go on to perform at other M&F events around Europe at later dates, including Match&Fuse Festival Zürich 2017 at the end of September.
