Matthew O'Connell/Michael McCarthy Quartet @ Bismarck

About this event

This is the debut performance of a newly formed group of Ireland's most exciting up and coming jazz musicians. Drawing on music composed by guitarist Matthew O'Connell and drummer Michael McCarthy, the group's repertoire draws influence from traditional and contemporary voices in jazz music such as Thelonious Monk and Kurt Rosenwinkel as well as western classical, country, folk and experimental music.

Matthew and Michael are joined by two already-renowned improvisers and composers in their own right, Leon Buckley on tenor saxophone and Aidan Gray on bass.
