About this event
"Charlie sings Chet" A tribute to Chet Baker with the Charlie Mooney Quintet.
On the night Charlie Mooney was born back in '89, his father; a blues/jazz guitarist and singer was supporting the late great B.B.King in the old stadium in Dublin with the Gripewater blues band, so Charlie's genes were steeped in the blues and jazz tradition since day one.
His mother Mia Parsons and father Nigel Mooney are intensely musical and it is no coincidence that Charlie spends every waking moment immersed in making beautiful music.
During his years studying jazz he began gigging professionally and added singing to his canon. His smooth and dulcet voice has often been likened to that of Chet Baker's and it seemed like the natural progression to pay tribute to the jazz legend.
Expect to hear songs from the classic 'Chet Baker sings' albums and other standards.
