The Dublin Jazz Collective is an anarcho-syndicalist commune masquerading as a jazz quintet, formed back in the early 90s. They’ve been playing together, on and off, ever since, making the DJC one of the longest running bands on the Dublin jazz scene. The Sofa Sessions is delighted to host a re-union of this semi-mythical group, with three of the original members, guitarist Tom Harte, pianist Blaise Smith and drummer Cormac Larkin. They will be joined by two of the hottest young musicians on the Irish scene, saxophonist Chris Engel and bassist Cormac O’Brien. There’s talk of some Pat Metheny tunes but really, anything could happen! Don’t miss this rare chance to hear the DJC live.
