Paul McIntyre Quartet in Concert
At a glance
About this event
Featuring Paul McIntyre on tenor saxophone, Tommy Buckley on guitar, Daniel Bodwell on double bass and John Philip Murray on drums, the concert at The Briery Gap is a rare opportunity to see this quartet of top musicians perform a thoroughly engaging, two-hour set.
Their musical choices are rooted in the melodies and harmonies of the Great American Songbook, sprinkled with tunes from Latin and Afro-Caribbean traditions and classics from Mainstream, Hardbop and Modern jazz eras. These players are well versed in delivering exciting improvised solo interpretations. They will accompany and cajole each other to explore the possibilities in the tunes, all the time maintaining the underlying the form, and the wit of the compositions. The concert will be filled with wordless conversations, incident and surprise.
