About this event

This collaboration is set to be a journey of discovery and exploration, using both the compositions of all three musicians and free improvisation as the spring board and the medium.

New musical friendships and conversations lie at the heart of what it means to play jazz and improvised music. This concert will be an embodiment of that spirit and will make for most exciting listening.

Jacobson and Engel are active members of the Dublin (and Irish) jazz and improvised music scene, playing in a host of projects, many of which have received critical acclaim recently. Most frequently, these two play together in the quintet, "UMBRA" (with an album due for release this September) and Chris Engel's quartet BigSpoon.

Trygve Waldemar Fiske has distinguished himself as an accomplished bass player and improviser in many acclaimed projects since he started his professional career in 2009. As a member of Hanna Paulsberg Concept he has won Young Nordic Jazz comets, Trondheim Jazz Festivals talent scholarship, released three critically acclaimed albums and played over 100 concerts. In 2016 Fiske is at the centre of young Norwegian jazz and more active than ever, as a bass player, improviser and composer.
