Cara Mia Swing Dance Club is the new vintage music and dance event in Dublin

Vintage music and dance event, CARA MIA Swing Dance Club, finally arrived in Dublin and will make its first appearance at DASHI on Sunday 12th of February.

The 'Lulu’s Swing Band' and 'Boogie with Alessandro' have joined to create a new fun music and dance experience. You can come to dance or just to enjoy the concert and the joyful atmosphere. You can come for the class or just for the Social dance too!

• 7.30pm/8.30pm : Boogie Woogie Class for beginners with Alessandro; (remember: no experience required, no partner required)
• 8.30pm/10.30pm : Live Music Social Dance with 'Lulu's Swing Band'

WHAT's Boogie Woogie dance?

Boogie-woogie is a form of swing dance, originated from a musical style derived from piano blues and developed around the 1930s and 1940s in the US. This dance is a symbol of "rebirth," not surprisingly brought to Europe by American soldiers. It is a mix of several styles, has remarkable vitality, and has that perfect dose of irony and fun. It is an engaging partner dance that relies mainly on improvisational skills and musicality.

CURIOSITY ABOUT CARA MIA

CARA MIA Swing dance Club is the idea of two Italians living in Dublin, a singer and a dancer.

The name is inspired by the Celtic word for 'Friend' which means 'Dear' in Italian and 'Dude' in Portuguese. This brings together the multicultural perspectives in just one word and what CARA MIA aims to be:

a place to socialize, find friends and celebrate music and dance as a common language for every ethnicity in Ireland.
