About this event
A former background vocalist for Rev. Al Green, Deborah Swiney provides classy, jazzy entertainment that takes you from the elegant music of the Harlem Renaissance to the swinging sambas of Rio. Latin jazz, the Great American Songbook, a little soul, and a splash of blues: Deborah is versatile, elegant, and supremely talented.
Deborah transcends the usual definition of a jazz songstress by incorporating her Bluff City roots into the standards and bringing a soulful approach to Bossa Nova and other Brazilian music.
Deborah is masterful at a wide range of events, including corporate parties, weddings, festivals, and studio sessions. Her bandmates are some of the city's finest musicians, and she can perform with a range of combos, from duos to a full band.
