About this event
The Sam McGuire Quartet was born with an ephemeral limb on the eve of the ‘22 All Ireland Football final in Connemara, Galway. The three physical quarters are Ultan Lavery (organ), Sam Clague (guitar) and James Christie (drums). This will be the second ever performance of the quartet.
Based out of Cork City, all members have worked together in various outfits as sidemen and band leaders of original projects. In this format, the band presents everything from sentimental 40’s swing classics to 50’s bebop and blues from the likes of Bud Powell and Wes Montgomery.
