About this event

Curated by Aengus Hackett Music, the #JAZZGate Series pays tribute to the greatest jazz artists and composers of all time,
as well as featuring local and visiting musicians - the absolute cream of the Irish Jazz scene.

* JAZZGate will continue into this year, taking place every Thursday from 9pm *

About John Donegan:

John is a modern jazz pianist who writes and plays a selection of standards and originals in the bebop style with his Trio / Quartet / Quintet. John’s modern jazz has been featured on the BBC, Jazz FM and RTE.

John has played with many greats both national and international and has played at festivals and prestigious venues the world over. His major influences include the likes of Bill Evan, Lennie Tristano, Wynton Kelly, Hampton Hawes, Bud Powell and Chic Corea, Kenny Barron, and - quite fittingly - Keith Jarrett

About Keith Jarrett:

Over the past five decades, Keith Jarrett has come to be recognized as one of the most creative musicians of our times - universally acclaimed as an improviser of unsurpassed genius; said improvisations drawing from the traditions of jazz and other genres, especially Western classical music, gospel, blues, and ethnic folk music.

He is a master of jazz piano; a classical keyboardist of great depth; and as a composer who has written hundreds of pieces for his various jazz groups, plus extended works for orchestras, soloists, and chamber ensembles.

The Band:

John Donegan (UK) - Piano
Matthew Berrill - Saxophone
Aengus Hackett - Guitar
Barry Donohue - Bass
John Daly - Drums
