MMCD feat. Jan Henrik Rau

About this event
MMCD was formed when, after many long jam and noise-making sessions, married couple Eoin O'Halloran and Yuzuha O'Halloran decided to spice things up and add a drummer into the mix: Hugh Denman. Having all previously played and toured together as part of bands Atsch and Parallel Society, a unique and personal sound was quickly forged from the first rehearsal.
MMCD explore the landscape of free improvisation dotted with landmarks and hooks of composed material. With a far reaching group of influences including improvised music legends like Evan Parker, Barry Guy and Derek Bailey, electronic music composers like Oneohtrixpointnever and Aphex Twin as well as Traditional Folk musics from around the world, every MMCD performance is an explosive display of diverse improvisation.
Expect everything from folk-ish melodies and blissful soundscapes to furious improvisation and heavy downtempo grooves.
This week's gig will feature a second set featuring long time collaborator and friend Jan Henrik Rau from Parallel Society as he returns to Dublin for a week.
