About this event
Honor Heffernan(vocals) andTrevor Knight(keyboards) together with their bandEd Deane(guitar),Garvan Gallagher(bass), andTom Jamieson (drums) will present an exciting evening of original music interspersed with songs by writers such as Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, Brecht and Weill , Diamanda Gallas and Peter Green.
The original songs will be taken from their acclaimed show “The Whistling Girl”, featuring music composed by Trevor that was inspired by the poetry of the great American poet, wit and criticDorothy Parker. The songs are each infused with a unique ‘voice’, creating individual tableaux or dream moments from Parker’s psyche, conjuring up images from her tempestuous life of outrageous celebrity as founding member of the notorious Algonquin set in New York, and as civil rights activist in America and Spain during the Spanish Civil War.
