The Felton/Evans/Del Val Trio formed shortly after the arrival of drumming sensation Gonzalo Del Val to Ireland in September 2016. Building on Felton's rhythmic inventiveness, Evans' ability to move music to new places and del Val's unique melodic drum conception, the band negotiate a wide range of musical landscapes from standards to originals to free improvisation.
Greg Felton is recognised as one of the leading jazz pianist-composers to have emerged in Ireland in recent years. In addition to being constantly in demand as a bassist, Damian Evans recently completed his PhD in jazz studies. Gonzalo del Val is one of the finest musicians on the Spanish scene. His latest trio album featured on numerous ‘best of’ 2017 lists. He currently teaches at L´AULA de Música Moderna y Jazz Conservatori del Liceu, Barcelona.
