Conor Guilfoyle’s “Conclave”
At a glance
About this event
Conor Guilfoyle's Jazz Conclave has developed a unique sound with one foot (hand) in Cuba and the other firmly rooted in jazz.
Classic jazz tunes are given the Cuban treatment, while Cuban standards are given a jazz one. Along with Conor there is Ed McGinn on congas and Andrew Csibi on bass, both who are as comfortable in either the Latin or Jazz worlds . Add Venezuelan pianist Leopold Osio and contemporary guitarist Chris
Guilfoyle and the possibilities widen considerably. Claves mix with the odd meters, jazz solos blend with montunos. It's impossible to tell where one world ends and the other begins.
The Jazz Conclave are:
Conor Guilfoyle - Drums
Ed McGinn - Congas
Andrew Csibi - Bass
Chris Guilfoyle - Guitar
Leopoldo Osio - Piano
Location
12 Aungier Street
