About this event
John Moriarty is one of Ireland's foremost jazz guitarists; having performed / recorded with many greats including Ronnie Cuber, Bobby Watson, Eric Reed, Bill Carrothers.
He is also world-renowned as a master luthier having redesigned the classic archtop guitar to his own specifications.
Moriarty's 2013 record release, 'Echoes' received great reviews internationally, and showcases his individual voice on the instrument. This evenings repertoire is drawn from carefully selected jazz standards as well as some new and original music. Completing the quartet is the fantastic Venezuelan pianist Leopoldo Osio, along with the solid rhythm section of Damian Evans and Shane O'Donovan.

JJ Smyth's is a family owned bar in the center of Dublin city. Home to many a musician, Jazz and Blues alike. It started off as a family owned grocery and public house back in the 1730's, it has changed throughout the years and now you can hear live Jazz and Blues sounds of the city from within it's doors. JJ's has live Blues and Jazz music six nights of the week. This is where many a musician got their start and where many of the top names continue to play.
