About this event

Irish singer Stella Bass celebrates 100 years of the life and music of American jazz icon Ella Fitzgerald - one of the most unique and innovative singers of all time - alongside internationally-acclaimed guitarist, Hugh Buckley.

Amassing 13 Grammys and 40 million albums sales over an astounding 60-year career, Ella could sing sultry ballads, sweet jazz, pop tunes and imitate any instrument in the orchestra – and indeed today’s concert includes some of Ella’s best-loved songs such as “Manhattan” and “Lady is a Tramp”. Born in 1917, Ella worked with all the greats – Ellington, Basie, Sinatra, Gillespie, Armstrong – and packed out venues worldwide during her career, including Dublin’s Adelphi Theatre in 1964. Part of a nationwide 2017 tour by Stella and Hugh, this is a concert not to be missed!
