About this event
Experience the immersive expanse of solo piano in the round as Cork pianist Cormac McCarthy launches his solo piano album On The Other Hand
Mondays at The Complex feature a new partnership with Improvised Music Company to bring some Irish jazz to The Depot. You may have been here for the Fontaines DC, Temporary Pleasure, DDR’s outdoor Saturdays, contemporary art in the gallery, Fringe and Theatre Festivals or the Slam Poets Wrestling, and now you can enjoy some smooth and sophisticated sounds, beginning with the mesmerising Dana Masters and her band, followed by innovative pianist Cormac McCarthy and then the well-known duo Aengus Hackett/ Mike Nielsen who will play a cool evening of Cole Porter.
Cormac McCarthy
Praised for his “...individualistic use of Irish traditional music with its lilting strictnesses and sudden bursts of passionate energy introduced via a pronounced jazz filter…” [Irish Times], Cormac distills his ease across genres and wide international concert experience into a love-letter to the power of jazz piano.
Part of a series of Monday night jazz at The Complex presented by Improvised Music Company in partnership with The Complex, with the support of the Night-Time Economy Support Scheme.
Note: This is a fully-seated concert. If you have particular access needs, please let us know at and we will do our best to assist you.
