Suzanne Savage - Jazz & Contemporary Artist
Suzanne Savage b.1977 is a Belfast-born vocalist, violinist, songwriter and performer living in Dublin.
Seven days before lockdown, Suzanne was invited soloist performing the “Music Of Leonard Cohen” with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra at two sold out nights at Bord Gais Energy Theatre Dublin, with fellow soloists Lisa Hannigan, Phelim Drew and Mick Flannery (4th & 5th March 2020).
Like many musicians, during lockdown Suzanne has been involved in online streaming concerts (such as “Vision” with Paul Brady at Vicar St), or focused on writing, most recently in July participating in a First Music Contact music industry stimulus package (MISP) funded three day songwriting workshop with Matt McGinn, N.I. Music Prize Winner Ciaran Lavery and Finnian Kelleher at Black Mountain Studios in Dundalk. Their new song “True Love” was first broadcast on Friday 16th July on RTE Radio One on the John Creedon Show.
Suzanne has been demand as a session vocalist for high profile acts across jazz, singer- songwriter, Irish, classical and dance music since 2001. From touring Europe and U.S. as Principle Soprano Soloist with Riverdance, and a U.S. and European tour with Celtic Nights, to a creative music scholarship at Italian FABRICA MUSICA institute, she has made music internationally. During her writing and performance scholarship to FABRICA MUSICA (Venice) in 2004 where she worked as part of composer Andrea Molino’s international multi-media work “CREDO, the Innocence of God,” she co-created voice/cello ensemble “TwoVersus” with NZ cellist Hugo Smit (later reimagined for string ensemble and voice as “The Savage Five”).
