About this event
Ella Fitzgerald was an American icon by the time she passed away in 1996, after a career spanning nearly sixty years. One of the most unique, innovative singers ever, she won 13 Grammys and sold over 40 million albums.
Ella could sing sultry ballads, sweet jazz, pop tunes and imitate every instrument in the orchestra. She worked with all the jazz greats, from Ellington and Basie to Sinatra, Gillespie and Goodman and packed out venues worldwide, including Dublin’s Adelphi in 1964. Jazz singer Stella Bass pays tribute to the life and times of Lady Ella, accompanied by internationally-acclaimed guitarist, Hugh Buckley.
