SPECTRUM live : Dans Dans (BE) & Hedvig Mollestad Trio (NO)

About this event
A Double header for two exciting, raw European jazz acts.
Atmospheric, hypnotic, delicate and wild: Belgian jazz instrumental trio Dans Dans tirelessly construct their own musical universe creating a wide-open, cinematic sound - jazz without stuffiness, rock without blinkers and avant-garde without pretentiousness.
Fans of instrumental guitar music—both jazz and rock—will want to take notice of Hedvig Mollestad. A dark, brooding Norwegian aesthetic is at play here, but with a heavy nod to the riot grrrl sound and its raw punk energy.
Presented by Improvised Music Company (IMC) in association with Note Productions and Homebeat, SPECTRUM is a new festival experience for fans of innovative music-making, SPECTRUM presents a widely diverse programme of music that flows through the prism of the jazz approach; its output a miscellany of sound, covering a full spectrum through jazz, progressive, rock, alt-folk to electronica.
