Snowpoet Digital Sound Creation Workshop

BOOK SHOW AND WORKSHOP FOR €25 - DISCOUNT WILL BE APPLIED AUTOMATICALLY IN CART

Snowpoet's lush soundscapes and ambient textures are largely down to the electronic wizardry of multi-instrumentalists Chis Hyson and Matt Robinson. Together they use a wide variety of electronic tools to create Snowpoet's unique sound worlds. Given the bands' extensive knowledge and background of creating ambient textures in their music, Chris & Matt will give you a front row seat to this sound creation in a workshop of contemporary electronic skills for music composition and performance.

This engaging workshop will demonstrate their use of custom software design and multiple hardware interfaces for the creation of live effects and will showcase how this is presented in Snowpoet’s genre-crossing music. The event will be interactive, which will provide audiences with the tools to create their own music while also augmenting the Snowpoet concert itself. There will be space for conversation and questions from the audience in this digital conversation platform on electronic music skills.

Specific tool guides include the use of Ableton Live for the creation and manipulation of synth sounds, textural effects and processing vocal effects. The workshop will also demonstrate the depth and breadth available in the use of electronic staples like the OP-1 mini synth as well as using sequencers and samplers in live music to create multiple sound layers that create additional depth and dimension with additional depth
Chris and Matt will also delve into beat generation using the Roland SPD-SX drum machine for creating and splicing the ambient beat manipulation that features heavily in Snowpoet’s acoustic arsenal.

Given the wide availability today of myriad software tools for aspiring artists to generate music,  this workshop will be a good starting point for any amateur electronics based musician.
