Bobo Stenson/Jon Falt/Mats Eilertsen (Sw/Nor) - Bray Jazz Festival

About this event

Pianist Bobo Stenson is one of the heavy-hitters in contemporary Nordic jazz.

bobostenson450The Swede is a master of the measured build up, and his blending of classical, jazz, and folk influences and uncommon time signatures has led to comparisons with peers such as Brad Mehldau and Keith Jarrett.

Stenson’s presence for many years on the iconic ECM jazz label is testimony to his status as one of the top players of his generation.

Bobo Stenson cut his teeth in the 1970s with stars such as Jan Garbarek, Tomasz Stanko, Don Cherry and Charles Lloyd amongst others.

He has worked extensively since then with double-bassist Anders Jormin, and along with percussionist Jon Falt has established one of the leading piano trios in European jazz.

Here, he is joined by Falt and with double-bassist Mats Eilertsen, one of Norway’s top players and himself a headline artist at a previous Bray Jazz Festival.
